I regularly spend time at local south coast beaches, walking Clyde the dog, surfing, occasionally fishing and also collecting detritus from the beach.

My main focus with collections is drift timber, lengths of pine presumably set free from container vessels. This timber is salt washed, and has an interesting patina of experience on the surface – usually cloudy white, with occasional rust patched from embedded nails. These timbers are then de-nailed, de-barnacled and stored, ready for some future use for assemblage art works and sometimes simple table and stool making.
