PAINT SYSTEM PM  2017

This work has initially been inspired by my habit of keeping the stirring paddles I use with the considerable number of pre - mixed acrylic paint colours. Over  time, these paddles become charactered, given the number of layers that develop from stirring.

I decided to make a work that is an enlarged version of  the paddles , complete with the jar samples of each colour.

Paint manufacturers name all their colours, an evocative attempt to reach out to the consumer through the medium of the word.  These colour names change over time as  fashions come and go. I have always found them to be gently amusing and meaningless at the same time.

So…this ‘system’ has the potential to be used, a separated presentation of the tools in a painting practice.
