INDIAN PLONK
This exhibition was a response to a TV programme that we viewed on the ABC program Foreign Correspondent late 2011. It featured the work of Akshaya trust, a charitable foundation that works with street people in Madurai, India. My daughter had recently travelled through India, so we thought it was a timely project to have a show of collaborative themed work and hopefully raise some money for the trust at the same time. Hence Indian Plonk was born. the exhibition was held at 'Off the kerb' Gallery, Collingwood, Melbourne Victoria in May 2012. The show consisted of many small scale paintings, cattle cut outs, traditional dress cut outs and a selection of fashion from Tessa, aka 'Miss Plonk'.
We raised around $4000 for the trust.
